Guided Bluebell Walks at Gaunts Estate

on 4th, 11th, 15th, 18th & 22nd May

Come and explore Honeybrook, 84 acres of river meadows, Victorian farm, adventure and play, all tucked away in the beautiful Dorset countryside by the banks of the River Allen. From Wild Skills outdoor adventure to playgrounds, farm animals to ponies, river walks to tractor rides and plenty of delicious food, we’ve got everything you need for fun and relaxation with family and friends! We hope to see you soon.

Join a Honeybrook ranger for a leisurely walk around the beautiful bluebell woods of Gaunts Estate. This guided walk will be

approximately 4 miles and you will need to wear sturdy footwear and suitable outdoor clothing. The walk will start from Honeybrook Farm, and will include a short tour around the Estate's grand country house, Gaunts House.

It will be a circular route mainly on gravel tracks and fields, with one small incline and no stiles.

 

Easter Saturday &

Sunday 19/20th April

We’ll be holding our Easter egg hunt in the Victorian gardens. And if you’re feeling creative, enter our Easter bonnet competition too.

 It's a great opportunity to explore countryside that is not usually accessible to the public.

Wild Skills Parties

Come to Honeybrook for a 2 or 4 hour session of bushcraft & fun in the woods. Parties can be tailored to your needs, & are available after school on week-days.

Corporate Events

Honeybrook is a fantastic venue for Corporate Events, Christmas Parties and Private Celebrations throughout the year.

We are also fully licensed for alcohol & have a catering team on site. We have lots of rooms & sites available for various daytime or evening functions.

Heroes Day at Honeybrook

Tuesday 27th May

With visiting emergency services (tbc). Dress as a Super Hero & you get 1/2 price entry to the farm! There will be a ‘best-superhero-dressed’ competition too!

Hot snacks that include: Panini’s and a variety of fresh home cooked savoury pastries, plus a fabulous selection of homemade cakes and sweet treats.

We are very happy to have you sit and relax in our great barn while the kids read and play in the children’s den.

Our famous and traditional tea rooms are open throughout the day, serving classic cream teas plus tasty sandwiches and fresh slices of our home made cakes.

You can take your tea on our sun lit patio next to the stream or in the beautiful garden area, the choice is yours.

A welcoming and relaxing restaurant serving a variety of freshly prepared children’s, adults and family meals. We pride ourselves on using our own produce from the Honeybrook Victorian garden to bring freshness and vibrancy to our cooking.

With access to fresh Honeybrook meat we will be offering a mouth watering carvery every Sunday and during the summer, in our new BBQ area a selection of juicy steaks sausages and burgers.

New for 2104, Honeybrook are opening a one stop shop for all manner of sweetie goodness.

With fresh scoop and Mr whippy ice-creams, popcorn, candyfloss, toffee apples and lots more we hope your sweet tooth will be satisfied.

A mystery awaits around every corner as you ramble along beautiful riverside walks and climb, run and jump your way towards the next exhilarating challenge. Keep an eye out for The Ford, cross over to find Bakers Dozen, down to Vic's Island and across the Tricorn Bridge to the Wild Skills Den

Regular Pets Corner sessions offer a chance to give some of our animals a pet and a groom! We also have two cows who are milked daily in the parlour, come and see how it's done.

The indoor Soft Play Area is terrific fun and very popular with the kids is perfect for when the rains are about and there is seating too. It also holds the new Ice Cream Parlour for all manner of sweetie goodness. With fresh scoop and Mr whippy ice-creams, popcorn, candyfloss, toffee apples & lots more.

Fun for the bigger kids includes Flying Fox zip wire, Buccaneer Towers, Trojan Horse, massive climbing structures with slides & lots more all on sand for safe landings. Plus Tots’ Playground for the little ones.

Our Splash Pad on the Village Green is designed and built especially for Honeybrook. Great fun on those sunny Summer days or equally a real giggle with wellies and waterproofs.

Beautiful formal gardens, stunning countryside vistas, intimate ceremony rooms and The Orchard make Honeybrook Farm the perfect venue for your wedding or event. We’re also a licensed wedding venue.

A beautiful semi-natural pond close to the river. Surrounded by trees, it is a great place for wildlife exploration & serves as a peaceful haven away from the hustle-bustle of the main farmyard.

A natural chalk stream with its own strain of brown trout as well as wild rainbow trout, grayling, pike & crayfish. With luck you may see kingfishers, egrets, cormorants, heron, otters & water voles too.

The Stone Circle is found in the centre of the field across the river. Most of the stones form part of a natural compass with outlying stones reminiscent of the constellation of Orion. A tall ‘gateway’ offers entrance and this is a great place for photos!

Jump around! Climb and scramble, get bouncing on the fun Bouncy Pillow on the Village Green.

Learn exciting bushcraft and outdoor survival skills! Tie knots, track animals, navigate around the woods, build a camp and watertight shelter, light fires, forage for food, skin a rabbit, gut a fish and get cooking on an open camp fire. Watch ranger demonstrations, get hands on with a one-off session, an 8-part course or book a fantastic Wild Skills children’s birthday party! It's safe to learn! Our rangers are experienced professionals CRB checked, first aid trained and qualified to lead children's groups in the outdoors. You just need to wear appropriate outdoor clothing.

Taster Days

Wild Skills taster days at Honeybrook Farm, you can come and have a go at everything from making fires to building shelters. Everything you need will be suppled and there is no need to book.

 

If you find you enjoy the taster days you can book onto one of our wild skills courses that take place in one of various locations on the Gaunts estate. These sessions go into more detail about about Wild Skills subjects.

Courses

Wild Skills encourages learning by hands on activities, each activity is classed as a module with some modules building upon others. When the program and all modules are completed the final step is a ‘camp out’.

 

Each module will take place on the Gaunts Estate utilising various locations depending on the module and or weather, though the primary location will be the Triangle Copse and Granary on Honeybrook Farm

 

 

Parties

Come to Honeybrook for a 2 hour or 4 hour session of bushcraft and fun in the Wild Skills Den and Camp. Learn how to light a campfire the old fashioned way, build a shelter to protect you from the elements and toast some marshmallows!

 

Parties can be tailored to your needs, from a minimum of 2 hours and have a maximum of 10 children. All Wild Skills parties include a tractor ride to the location.

Module 1: Knots

Knots, Lashings, Building techniques and decorative knots

Module 5: Food

Foraging, trapping, fishing and preparing things to eat

Module 2: Shelter

Shelter building using locally available natural materials

Module 3: Fire

Making fire using friction, spark sticks, pistons, matchers, lighters

Module 4: Water

Finding, collecting and purifying water for drinking

Module 6: Cooking

Cooking on fire, building and using camp ovens and other cooking techniques

Module 7: Navigation

Map reading with compass

and using natural clues to determine direction

Module 8: Tracking

Identifying prints and observing clues to animals

or people

Navigate to the camp site and set up shelter. Build a fire, find and prepare food

 

Are you pony mad?

Then visit Honeybrook Riding Stables, where there's lots to do for beginners and experienced riders of all ages, with ponies and horses for everyone!

Make friends with our lovely ponies, learn how to care for them and enjoy a ride out on our Ride & Groom mornings.

Our friendly team offer Pony Rides for children aged 3+ during school holidays. Book a private or group Lesson or hack across the beautiful Gaunts Estate for children aged 4+ and adults, too!

Listen out for announcements of impromptu happenings and special events during your visit.

Our rangers and several of our staff are First Aid trained. First Aid points at restaurant and reception.

 In the event of an accident, please contact the Restaurant, Café or the nearest ranger.

No smoking around buildings, animal pens or play areas. Please dispose of your butts appropriately.

To discourage wasps, we have limited rubbish bins & encourage visitors to take their litter home.

Honeybrook is a working farm so please supervise your children at all times.

Opening Times

We are open every day from 10am to 5pm and until 6pm in the summer. Dogs welcome on leads.
